Have you heard all the talk about cyber security and the importance of safeguarding your online accounts?
October is Cyber Security Awareness month in Australia and this can serve as a great reminder to make sure your devices and accounts are protected against cyber security threats.
The Australian Government Department of Home Affairs recommends taking simple, yet effective and impactful steps to protect your online presence.
This protection should be in place for all of your online activities and includes ensuring all software is up to date by installing software upgrades when they become available, using strong and unique passphrases (different ones for each account!), recognising and reporting phishing attempts through email or SMS to the Australian Cyber Security Centre.
When it comes to protecting your client's data in XPLAN, most sites are automatically upgraded twice a week, and the length, requirements and complexity of your password will be set by your XPLAN administrator, so both of those safeguards are already in place.
Other than these methods, the most effective way for you to protect your XPLAN data is through the use of two-factor, or multi-factor authentication. This can be set on an XPLAN site to require a second step to identify you before you can log in to your account, making it harder for someone else to access your account. In XPLAN the second factor methods are email, SMS, or authenticator app, and your administrator can set the frequency for the second factor requirement, from every time you log in, every 24 hours, once a week or once a month.
If you are ready to turn on 2FA on your XPLAN site, contact Enzumo and we can help with the set-up.
